Save the date! Sojourner House's 5th Annual Masquerade Ball will return to the Providence Biltmore on Friday, November 13, 2015.
This November, guests will enter the era of indulgence and sweets as they go back in time to 1770’s French court and meet “Marie Antoinette.” In 2014, the grand ballroom of the iconic Providence Biltmore was filled with more than 350 people donning masks, suits and gowns as they were transported back in time to the 1960s heyday of a Rat Pack-dominated Las Vegas.
Hosted by the Providence Biltmore in its spectacular Grand Ballroom, this creative semi-formal event will feature live music and dancing, performance art by Chifferobe’s ever-talented TropiGals, hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a large silent auction filled with holiday gift ideas.
This year's Ball features "Let Them Eat Cake": a RI FOOD FIGHTS sponsored event that features local bakeries displaying their finest Marie-Antoinette themed cake and competing for bragging rights.
Proceeds from the Masquerade Ball support Sojourner House’s Drop-In Resource Center and residential program for victims of domestic violence. Every day, we offer Help Line support and advocacy, youth programs for children who witness violence, HIV testing and counseling, violence prevention education, and empowerment groups.
We hope you can join us at the Ball and contribute to our mission to end domestic violence in our Rhode Island communities.
What to wear: Fanciful attire of black, cream and purple is encouraged! Maybe you prefer to wear a suit or little black dress. Or perhaps you'd like to wear a full powdered wig and hoop skirt. Whatever your choice of duds....mask or no mask...... all are welcome!
