The Mayor’s Millennial Task Force invites you to join Mayor Jorge Elorza, the Mayor’s Millennial Task Force (MMTF) members, and the Millennial Professional Group of Rhode Island for a #MillennialMonday on Monday, September 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Easy Entertaining Inc. for the announcement of the Millennial Task Force’s final report. Established in June 2015, the MTTF represented a group of students and young professionals from across the city who convened to generate recommendations to improve millennial life in Providence.
As home to more than 70,000 millennials – defined as individuals born between 1979 and 2000 – Providence is poised to be a leader among American cities in drawing, developing, and keeping young residents millennials here in the Creative Capital.
The Task Force brought together five millennials with varying connections to and backgrounds in the Providence community. In addition to conducting research on millennials, Task Force members held a Twitter Town Hall, organized an Open House in City Hall, conducted several focus groups with a diverse population of local millennials, and distributed surveys to young professionals and current college students from across Providence’s diverse neighborhoods. The report will include all of the MTTF’s findings as well as recommendations on next steps to continue to make Providence a place where people of all ages want to Live, Work and Play.
